My collage piece is titled, Creator. My website is all about being creative and specifically being creative in fashion. I wanted my collage to be abstract but meaningful because this is what fashion is about. I really wanted to capture the idea of how so many people just don’t understand fashion and this is where I decided on making my piece abstract. I also wanted to incorporate a lot of color and texture and movement in this piece because that is what great fashion silhouettes include so my collage should too. I wanted to include some wording so I decided on we the creators. Many people in fashion and in art, in general, call themselves and their peers the creators. I ripped some of the wording to symbolize us rebelling from society and the fact that many fashion influencers think that fashion is dying because it is getting ruined by media. I thought this was important because it is a constant topic being part up in the fashion industry.mI also included pictures of my outfits to show that this was about fashion in an obvious way. I included the drawing because I believe many great artists or designers mix mediums and I love doing so also. They may physically mix mediums or approach one art form like you would another. For example, many people that are makeup artists say it is like painting a picture. This is how I approach fashion.

For the process on creating my piece I used my elements on photoshop. For all of the pictures I used the lasso tool to cut them out because they were all apart of a bigger picture. Some pictures like the splatter paint were even apart of past art projects I completed. I then began transforming and moving the objects are to find the best place on the page for them. Then I decided to get creative with them individually. Using the adjustments button and opacity I changed how the images were colored. I also copied some of the objects for more of an effect. For example the picture of me in the coat. The wording I cut out and made slashes through with the lasso tool.

For my revision process I started with deciding what images did not speak to me or express my topic as clearly. I decided my revisions would be to delete some things from my draft because my peers and I decided the collage was busy and losing its importance. I decided to first delete the red heart I had in the corner because I felt it served no purpose. Originally I included it because it showed a lot of texture which added to the dynamic but when I was placing things in and out this made no change when I deleted it. In better words my art piece did not add value with this element. I also decided to delete the picture of me in the pink suit and the reflection that was all orange. Originally I wanted this to stand for me being happier with fashion and clothes but I do not think the translation was executed well with my design. I felt it was on of the confusing pieces in the collage and I did not want people to lose sight of what I was trying to say. Those are the revisions I decided to make with my collage.

Also, many people in fashion and in art, in general, call themselves and their peers the creators. I thought this was good to include a phrase I hear a lot among my fashion major friends. I ripped some of the wording to symbolize us rebelling from society and the fact that many fashion influencers think that fashion is dying because it is getting ruined by media. I thought this was important because it is a constant topic being part up in the fashion industry.
I also included three pictures of my outfits to show that this was about fashion in an obvious way. Despite my piece being abstract I wanted people to know that it had something to do with fashion even if they did not understand the rest. I also made different silhouettes different to capture my personal aesthetic. I dress in many different styles and I wanted this to be shown in my collage.
